Dropvox teams1/28/2024 I personally like OneDrive/Sharepoint/Teams more than I do Dropbox. I will be setting up a test environment any advice for this?įirst, and in my opinion, I think to move to Microsoft is a good one. Have you done this Migration and is it painful? I can migrate the data in sections maybe over a couple week period. The folder structure we are using is not top notch so I am hoping I can clean this up some what during or before the migration. The owner of the company owns all the files. Most of the folders in Dropbox are shared to a Dropbox team or teams but there are a few that we add the share for a individual. They are also instructed to store all files on the sever (not on PC). So that leaves SharePoint and MS Teams, based on the way we use Dropbox will this be a good solution or am I going down the wrong path? Basically I would be using it for a file server and the end users both in the office and mobile. This works well for us but we do need a good email solution also.įirst off if you have done this migration what are your thoughts and experiences? Any big differences or common complaints from end users?įrom what I can tell OneDrive would be for personal files but you need it to see the shared files using windows file explorer. We have aprox 130 email boxes but only 40 (admin and managers) use Dropbox. We also have several mobile users who use the DB app on their mobile device. The owner is the only one who syncs (stores files for off line access) the entire dropbox to her desktop and we discourage sync this for all other users. This is allowing the company to be the owner of all the files in Dropbox. We also create a shared folder with their name on it and have them add their personal (non team files) to that folder. We use Dropbox for teams and end user access the files using windows file explorer (not web interface). From what I can tell that is a combination of OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. I am trying to fund $$ a migration to O365 by eliminating drop box and using the the Microsoft flavor for Dropbox. Our email is a POP3 service provided by the Co-operative that is free but we now need to find out own solution. We’ll be rolling it out to Basic and Pro users over the next week.We currently have Dropbox with 40 users and 1TB of data. The team feature is a new way to get everyone at your company working together on Dropbox. Both accounts will be available from anywhere - desktop, mobile, and on the web. Everyone can create separate accounts for personal and work files so they can stay focused on getting things done. And if you need to add someone later on, they’ll instantly get access to any folders already shared with the group. Create groups of team members to quickly share with working groups. Each team member will automatically get access to files put in this folder for easy collaboration from anywhere. Put all the information everyone needs in the team folder - and keep them all on the same page. Once you create your team, you’ll get additional tools to help you use Dropbox more effectively at work: Small teams can now bring colleagues together, organize projects, and share information faster. We’re excited to announce our new team feature, which will make it easier than ever for people with Dropbox Basic and Pro accounts to collaborate at work. With everyone and everything connected, ideas flow more freely and people create amazing things. And Dropbox really shines when you start collaborating on projects and sharing your work with others. But for many, it’s more than just personal projects: over 60% of our Basic and Pro users tell us they’re using it primarily for work. Over 400 million people love using Dropbox for everything from sharing family recipes to storing vacation photos. Update (September 22, 2015): The team feature is now available! Get started at /team.
